How to Make a Movie Script

If you are a movie fan and some fantastic idea is in your mind then you should transform it to words without delay. However, you will have to do it professionally as no one will be interested to invest time on a rough draft.

Mostly, people think movie script writing is just a fun activity. It is a completely wrong notion as creative script writing is the most difficult part of movie making as you are creating everything on our own.

    First of all, you should decide what type of movie script you want to write. Be clear about your idea as ambiguity will double the trouble and you won’t be able to make a good movie script.     Now, when you are clear about the idea, equip yourself with some basic script writing techniques. You can visit some libraries or just browse the internet as there are dozens of websites that share free scripts of blockbuster movies. You should read those sample scripts to polish your story telling skills. If you cannot find the script in written form then watch a few movies that are famous for their strong literary scripts.

    Make a sketch:

    Next step will be to draw a rough sketch of your project. In this process, you will work on a plot, development of the story, length and some major characters. Remember, the canvas of a feature film is always vast so let your imagination guide you. Once you have conceived a character then you won’t face any problem in developing the story.

    Start writing:

    After making a sketch, you will start writing your movie script. Try to divide your script in three segments, the introduction, the middle and the ending. In first third of your script, you will introduce your characters and start building the issue. In second third, you will fill your viewer’s mind with curiosity and leave them thinking in the interval. In the last part, you will gradually resolve the issue and conclude your story. Be sure to take your time while putting together a sketch of your script so that it easy to alter or update when needed.

    When you are done with the script, review it after a couple of days. Be a ruthless editor and cut away the dead weight. Make changes and then read your script in front of your friends. Try to get their feedback about the flow of the story and other important points that you can possibly improve.
