How To Make a Natural Foot Deodorizer

At times your feet start smelling bad, especially when they begin to sweat in hot summer days. If you want to avoid a commercial foot deodorizer due to the presence of certain harsh chemicals in them, don’t worry you can make your own foot deodorizers at home. Besides applying on your feet, you can also place these deodorizers in your shoes to keep your feet fresher during the day.

Things Required:

– Baking soda
– Baking powder
– Sage essential oil
– Plastic bag
– Cornstarch
– Lemon, orange or grapefruit essential oil
– Rosemary essential oil
– Lavender essential oil
– Arrow root starch
– Freshly squeezed lemon juice
– Glass or plastic container with lid

    Quick Sage Deodorizing Powder

    Put one teaspoon each baking powder and baking soda in a plastic bag with a locking lid and mix well. Add two to four drops of sage essential oil to this powdered mixture. Lock the top of the plastic bag and shake it vigorously until the oil is thoroughly absorbed by the powdered mixture. Break apart the clumps, if formed, with your fingers. Dust this sage deodorizing powder on your feet several times in a day.

    Citrus Foot Deodorizer

    Take one cup of cornstarch and half cup each baking soda and baking powder in medium-size plastic container. Add ten to fifteen drops of lemon essential oil (you can also use orange or grapefruit essential oil) to the mixture. Mix it thoroughly. Lock the container and let it to sit overnight to allow the dry mixture absorb the citrus fragrance. Sprinkle this deodorizer into your shoes and allow it to rest overnight, if not overnight than at least for four hours. Shake the powder out of your shoes and remove the remains with a wet cloth before wearing them.

    Note: Make sure the container you use has a locking top.

    Lemon Juice Deodorizer

    Mix ¼ cup each potato starch, corn starch or arrow root starch and baking soda in a medium size plastic container with a locking top. Add four drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice to it and stir the concoction thoroughly. Apply this deodorizer to your feet and allow it to sit for half an hour. Wash it away with mild soap and cold water.

    Lavender-Rosemary Foot Powder

    Take ½ cup of baking powder in a medium-size bowl with a locking top. Add ½ cup potato starch, cornstarch or arrow root starch to it. Pour 3 to 6 drops each of lavender and rosemary essential oil to this mixture and mix it thoroughly. Store this lavender-rosemary foot powder in cool and dark place. Dust your feet with this powder several times a day. If desired, you can also sprinkle this deodorizer in your shoes overnight, but don’t forget to shake out the residue before wearing the shoes.
