How to Make a Noah’s Ark Model

Making art crafts is not only a creative hobby but it can also be effectively adopted as a profession. You can bring out your creative skills to make some classic decorative ornaments or historic master pieces for your home and gift them to your loved ones. One of the classic decorative item you can make is the Noah’s Ark. It can be made as a demonstrative model or for decorating your drawing room. Whatever your motive is to make Noah’s Ark, it will be a fun-filled activity to craft such an item.

Things Required:

– 4-inch terra cotta pot (clay pot)
– 6-inch terra cotta base
– 2-inch terra cotta pot
– acrylic paints
– pieces of brown yarn
– foam animal stickers
– brown pipe cleaner

Instructions

  • 1

Gather up all the things you need to build the model of Noah’s Ark and set out to work. Lay down newspaper on the floor or table and place the material on it. Remember this model is ideal for children 6 to 11 years of age.

  • 2

Take the 4-inch and 6-inch pots and start painting their bases with brown acrylic paint. The interior of the pots don’t need paint but the entire base does. Let the paint completely dry after you have finished.

  • 3

When the base paint dries up, you have to paint out windows all around the pots. Make sure to keep equal space between the windows and use black paint for this purpose. You will be able to paint three windows around one pot.

  • 4

Once the paint has fully dried, you can add animals to the Noah’s Ark. You can simply use foam animal stickers and let them stick in the windows and around the base of the pot.

  • 5

Take the other 2-inch clay pot and paint it with blue acrylic paint. Since you will have to place this pot upside down later, you won’t need to paint the inside of it.

  • 6

Again after waiting for the blue paint to dry completely, you will then glue a 1 ½ inch wooden doll head at the bottom of the pot. This will represent the top of Noah’s body. You can draw eyes, nose and mouth of Noah with black paint and a fine painting brush.

  • 7

You can use small pieces of brown yarn for making Noah’s beard and moustache. As for the shepherd’s crook, you can use a brown pipe cleaner and glue it to one side of Noah. Your Noah’s Ark is now complete!
