  Dress:
  
  Obtain a dress pattern from a tailor. Source the pattern in order to make a dress similar to the one worn by Repunzel. A dress pattern fairly long with fitted sleeves would work just fine.

  Follow the instructions that came along with the dress pattern to cut and then sew the Repunzel dress. You should use purple satin fabric for making the dress. For a Repunzel dress that has two layers, use purple patterned fabric for the bottom layer. You should also attach ribbon loops on each of the front bodice opening sides. Also attach laces to make a criss-cross lace pattern. Sew lace trim onto the required spots on the dress.

  Hair:
  
  In the fairytale, Rapunzel had very long hair which her captive witch used each time she wanted to climb into the tower. Later on, Rapunzel’s hair was also used by the princess who rescued her. Keeping that in mind, decide how long you would want the hair to be. According get your hair styled or purchase an appropriate wig. Since you will be wearing the costume in real life and not in a fairytale, it would be best to keep the hair so long that they do create a problem for you in anyway.

  Accessories:
  
  The proper accessories are a important part of a Rapunzel costume. Depending on the age of the girl for whom the costume is being made, determine the required accessories. If you are making the costume for a child, the costume should be very simple with very few accessories. For an adult, accessories such as a crown and a few pieces of jewellery can be added to the costume. In the original Rapunzel fairytale, the princess had twin babies. You might want to include a set of plastic twin babies if desired.
