How to Make a Savoy Affair Cocktail
Savoy Affair is yet another gift passed down from the illustrious head bar man at Savoy Hotel’s American bar. The cocktail is as glamorous to sight as the name with a ravishing color. Joe Gilmore, the man behind this drink and many others, mixed it on his visit to the Atlantic Hotel at Germany. The drink is an absolute delight to both taste and sight and is famous at both bars and home parties equally. Let us try its recipe and explore which new worlds of taste making does it take us to.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Serving Size: 01 person (ingredients can be increased in the given proportion to make more servings)
Utensils: Cocktail Shaker, Cocktail glass
Ingredients:
– 1 part Lime Juice
– 1 part Fraise de Bois liqueur
– 1 part Passion Fruit Juice
– 1 part Peach Brandy
– Champagne (to fill rest of the glass)
– Crushed ice or ice cubes for chilling as required
– Strawberry for garnishing
Instructions
-
1
Place your cocktail glass in the refrigerator so that it gets chilled. Remove when the sides appear frosted. Wet the rims of the glass with some lemon juice and place it upside down on a sugared plate so that the rims get sugary.
-
2
In your cocktail shaker, pour the Lime Juice, Fraise de Bois liqueur, Passion Fruit Juice and Peach Brandy in no particular order. But make sure the lid is closed properly otherwise all the ingredients will spill out. Now shake well to get the proper taste.
-
3
Strain this mixture into the sugar rimmed cocktail glass. Fill up the rest of the glass with some champagne.
-
4
For garnishing use a strawberry which will look heavenly against the cocktail. A lime wedge can also be used as garnishing. Let the colors play and contrast in harmony.
