    Sugar and coconut oil scrub

Take sugar and coconut oil in a 2-to-1 ratio, that is if you are taking two tablespoons of table sugar then add one tablespoon of coconut oil (warm the oil a bit in the microwave before using). Pour 3 to 4 drops of lavender essential oil drops to it. Mix these ingredients well until you get an even sugary paste. Apply this scrub to hands or feet and rub thoroughly for 2 to 3 minutes. When done scrubbing, rinse it off with warm water and pat dry. After rinsing your hands and feet, it is recommended to apply a bit of petroleum or your favourite moisturizer to keep it moisturized.

Note: If applying on face then use finely grinded sugar.

    Lemon and Sugar/ Salt Scrub

Take ½ cup of sugar or salt in a medium size mixing bowl. Add one table spoon of olive oil and two tablespoons of lemon juice to it. Stir it thoroughly to get a granular mixture. Exfoliate your hands and feet with this mixture for two to three minutes. After exfoliating, let the scrub stay on your face for a few seconds and rinse it off with warm water. Once done with rinsing, it is better to apply your favourite moisturizer before drying the body part you have exfoliated.

    Soothing oatmeal scrub

Ground oatmeal is also a wonderful exfoliant. Besides exfoliating, oatmeal also absorbs and removes dirt and impurities from the surface, leaving your skin smooth, supple and hydrated. Oatmeal scrub is ideal for those who have sensitive skin. Take one tablespoon of ground oatmeal and add ¼ teaspoon of salt to it (salt boosts the face treatment’s exfoliating properties). Add one teaspoon of olive oil or water to the dry mixture to make it into a paste. Apply this scrub onto your skin and rub it gently in circular motions. Let this exfoliating scrub sit for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.
