How to Make a Tuna Salad Sandwich

The tuna salad sandwich is probably one of the easiest recipes on earth. After getting the required ingredients, you need no more than five minutes to prepare it.
The procedure starts with the canned tuna. However, if you have cooked tuna steaks, don’t hesitate to use them. Those who eat tuna for dieting should use the one packed in water. However, the rest can easily enjoy the one packed in olive oil. You can always add extra virgin oil by yourself.

Ingredients:
Tuna fish (if packed in water, drain it, and add a teaspoon of good quality olive oil): 1 (6 ounce) can
Cottage cheese: 1/3 cup
Mayonnaise: 2 tablespoons
Purple onion, chopped finely: 1/4
Celery stalk, chopped finely: 1
Capers: 1 tablespoon
Juice of half of a lemon
Pinch or two of dill
Minced fresh parsley: 2 tbsp
Dijon mustard: 1 teaspoon
(Optional – lettuce and sliced tomatoes)
Slices of French bread, lightly toasted

Open the can of tuna. There will be small slices inside, packed in water or oil. Drain it out in either case.

After completely draining the tuna, put it in a clean middle sized bowl.

It is the time to add a couple of spoons of mayonnaise. The quantity of this ingredient entirely depends on your taste. Use only one spoon, if you are diet conscious.

After mayonnaise, add chopped celery and/or onion/relish/peppers. The inclusion of these ingredients is optional though. There are no hard and fast rules here, as it depends on your taste. Mix the entire mixture nicely.

Take a couple of bread slices and butter them. One can also put them in the toaster before using.

If you like lettuce and tomato slices, place them on one bread slice, ensuring that the butter side is up.
Spread the prepared mixture on the slice. Don’t use too much quantity, because it might spoil the taste. -
