How to Make an Apple Smoothie

There are a number of different fruits one can use to make a smoothie. For instance, you can use blueberries, blackberries, pineapples and apples. If you are planning to make an apple smoothie, it will be a good idea to use fruits such as strawberries along with apples to prevent the smoothie from looking similar to apple sauce.

Ingredients:
Fresh apple: 1
Low-fat strawberry yogurt: 1 cup
Frozen strawberries: 6 oz.
Sugar: 1 tbsp.
Ice cubes: 1 cup

    Start by preparing an apple by carefully peeling it with a sharp utility knife and then coring it. Make sure that the apple you are using is fresh and does not have spots on the outer surface. Moreover, be thorough while coring the apple because you will not want any seeds to be mixed into the drink. Cut the peeled apple into small pieces. You are eventually going to blend the apple pieces so there is no need to be particular about their shape.

    Add apple pieces from the previous step, 1 cup low-fat strawberry yoghurt, 6 oz. frozen strawberries and 1 tbsp. of sugar to a blender. Turn on the blender and configure it to operate at medium speed. Be sure to cover the blender’s opening with a lid while the ingredients you added are being blended. Leave the blender running until its contents are smooth and no lumps remain.

    Set the blender to the lowest speed setting and add 1 cup ice cubes; one at a time. Let one ice cube to blend into the mixture completely before adding the next one. As you add the ice, the apple smoothie will become thicker. Check to see if more ice cubes are required.

    When you are satisfied with the thickness of the apple smoothie, empty the contents of the blender in a glass and serve the drink while it is still chilled.
