Deciphering the Avocado
Avocados are not difficult to peel and flesh, they simply are unique and therefore require a specific game plan. Cut into the centre of the fruit, and when you hit the pit rotate the fruit until it is cut around the entire circumference. Twist slightly and pull apart (awesome). Remove the pit and flesh out the green flesh from the peel using a spoon. -
2
Fork or Blend
Feel free to use either a of the following methods, the choice is completely yours.
One option is to mash the avocado until soft and broken down using a fork on a plate.
The other option is to use a food processor or similar device to purée the avocado until smooth. -
3
Add Something
Adding breast milk, formula or water can soften and thin the baby food while also potentially adding some great nutrients.
The food can also be thickened with infant cereal. -
4
Storage
Store any excess food in a clean plastic container and place in the fridge. Be sure to finish all the food within 2 days. Never feed your baby from a container that may be going back into the fridge as the saliva may contaminate the food.
