Swedish meatballs are perhaps one of the most popular recipes from Sweden. The meatballs can either be eaten along with a staple food or without it. The choice is yours. To make awesome meatballs, you need to have the right recipe.
Ingredients
  • Slices fresh white - 2
  • Cup - ¼
  • Clarified butter - 3 tablespoons
  • Kosher - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground - ¾ pounds
  • Large egg - 2
  • Black - ½ teaspoon
  • Ground allspice - ¼ teaspoon
  • Freshly grated - ¼ teaspoon
  • All purpose - ¼
  • Heavy cream - ¼ cup
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F.
  2. Tear the bread into small pieces.
  3. Place these pieces in a small mixing bowl.
  4. Pour milk in the bow and mix it with the bread pieces.
  5. Set the mixture aside after you have mixed it properly.
  6. Use a 12-inch straight sided sauté pan, placing it over medium heat.
  7. Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in the pan.
  8. Add a pinch of salt along with onion, and heat them until the onions have turned translucent.
  9. Remove the pan away from the heat and move on with the other recipe.
  10. Add another bowl which should contain bread and milk mixture, round chuck, pork, egg yolks and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, black pepper, nutmeg, allspice and the translucent onions.
  11. Mix all of the mentioned ingredients thoroughly. You can use a wooden spoon, mixer or fork for that purpose.
  12. Stir the mixture on medium speed for about 1 to 2 minutes.
  13. Weigh the meatballs using a scale.
  14. Weigh the meatballs into 1-ounce portions, placing them on a sheet pan.
  15. Use your own hands to shape the meatballs into rounds.
  16. Use the remaining butter and heat that in the sauté pan over medium heat.
  17. Add the meatballs in the heated butter.
  18. Let them cook till the meatballs turn golden brown from all sides.
  19. Remove the meatballs from the sauté or skillet and place them in an ovenproof dish using a slotted spoon.
  20. Place them in a warmed oven.
  21. Add flour to the pan or the skillet in which meatballs were cooked.
  22. Whisk it lightly brown and add the beef stock in it until the sauce begins to thicken.
  23. Add the cream and continue to cook it until it reaches its desired condition.
  24. Remove the meatballs from the oven and cover them with the gravy.
  25. Serve the meatballs.
