How to Make Blueberry Pie

Ingredients:
– 4 cups fresh blueberries
– 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
– 3 tablespoons cornstarch
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 3/4 cup white sugar
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 tablespoon butter

Preheat the oven to around 220 degrees Celsius. If the oven shows the temperature in Fahrenheit, one can preheat it to 425 degrees.

Take sugar, cinnamon and salt and mix them gently, before pouring it on the blueberries.

Place a pie crust on the pie dish and pour the blueberry mixture on the crust, before dotting the top with butter.

Take the remaining pastry and cut it into strips to create a lattice top. The width of the strips can be 1/2 - 3/4 inches. One can change the width as per need.

Flute the edges in order to give a beautiful shape to the blueberry pie. The more shape one gives to the edges, the more presentable it becomes.

Put the pie on the lower shelf of the oven for around 40 to 50 minutes. One must keep a look at the pie on regular intervals, in order to avoid over baking. The pie should be taken out of the oven right after it turns golden brown.
