Quick and easy Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole is a good recipe for starters or teenagers who are learning to make something light for a meal. It may appear a bit tricky to make cheesy hash brown casserole in the beginning, due to the ingredients required to make this scrumptious and delicious recipe.
Ingredients
- Frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed - 1 (2 pound) package
- Melted butter - ½ cup
- Shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 cups
- Can condensed cream of chicken soup - 1 (10.75 ounce)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Container sour cream - 1 (8 ounce)
- Ground black pepper - ¼ teaspoon
- Chopped onions - ½ cup
- Melted butter - ¼ cup
- Crushed cornflakes cereal - 2 cups
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. If your oven shows temperature in Celsius, then you can set it to 175 degrees.
- Take a large bowl and mix together hash browns, ½ cup melted butter and cream of chicken soup.
- Mix them gently until the ingredients are properly blended.
- Add in sour cream, chopped onion, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper as you once again mix it all together.
- Now take a medium sized saucepan and place it over medium heat.
- Put cornflakes in the saucepan and sauté them using ¼ cup melted butter.
- Take the cornflake mixture and sprinkle it over the casserole you created in the second step.
- You can now pour the casserole into an 8x12 inch baking dish and cover it before placing it into the oven.
- Wait for around 40 minutes, before taking the pan out of the oven.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes and the yummy cheesy hash brown casserole is ready to be served.
