If you are a bit down on energy, you should eat some chocolates, which not only boost the energy levels, but also improves the mood. You can try different chocolate recipes in order to enjoy unique tastes. One of the most popular chocolate treats in America is the chocolate covered raisins. The recipe is quite simple and you can prepare it at home with ease.
Ingredients
  • Chocolate in small pieces, preferably 60-75% fair trade cacao organic chocolate - 6 oz. (170 g)
  • Dark corn syrup - ¼ cup (59 ml)
  • Powdered sugar - 2 tbsp. (29 ml)
  • Vanilla - 1½ tsp. (7 ml)
  • Organic raisins - 2 cups (330 g)
Instructions
  1. Gather all of the ingredients in front and remember which ones will be used together while preparing the treats.
  2. This is extremely important otherwise you will end up burning the chocolate, which will ruin the overall taste.
  3. You have to use the chocolate and the dark corn syrup together whereas the rest of the ingredients will be mixed separately.
  4. It is not difficult to prepare a double boiler.
  5. You just need to have a couple of saucepans of different sizes.
  6. First, you need to place the larger of the two pans on the stove and fill it ¾ with water.
  7. Boil the water on maximum heat and then lower the flame of the stove.
  8. At this stage, place the smaller pan inside the larger one, so that it floats on water.
  9. Put chocolate and the dark corn syrup inside the small pan and allow it to melt.
  10. Continue stirring the mixture, so that it does not stick to the base of the double boiler.
  11. Once the chocolate mixture melts, add all of the other ingredients to it and mix together properly.
  12. Make sure that the raisins are covered with chocolate and then place them onto a wax paper.
  13. Place the chocolate covered raisins inside a freezer and allow them to chill for one hour.
  14. Your delicious treat will be ready and you can eat it anytime.
