How to Make Dragon Wings Costume

– Needle
– Thread
– Hood
– Sweat pants
– Stiff cloth
– Red, white, black, yellow cloth

You must start off by selecting the colour of the dragon. Buy pants and a hooded sweatshirt of the same colour. Try to buy your clothes at least two sizes larger as they will help you make a large dragon.

Cut out oval shapes from a shiny material and further cut the ovals to make scales. Make sure that these scales are right under your belly so that your sweatshirt cannot be seen. Start sewing the scales one by one.

Now it’s time for you to make the spikes for the back. For that you’ll be required to cut two triangles per spike. Sew the spikes on the back once they have been made. The material used for the spikes should be relatively stiff.

It’s time for you to make the wings of your dragon. Get yourself a shiny cloth and cut two triangles. Sew one triangle on one side and the other on the other side. Ask your child to open up his/her arms so you can see how long the wings should fall when your child raises his/her arms at full. Make sure you also sew the triangles on the underside of the sleeves.

Once you are done with the wings, you should make a tail. This will also be a triangular shape, but thinner than the ones you have cut out before. Cut two triangles of the same shape and size and sew them together. Sew the tail made on the top of the sweat pants.

Cut a shape for the eyes and mouth with red, white and black coloured cloth. This will help you make the head of the dragon. Make small white triangles in order to add the effect of the teeth which can hang down from right under the mouth.
