Bad eating habits affect a person’s health badly. The routine of eating even without any significant hunger, damages the stomach to a great extent. Therefore, you should eat only a light snack, if you don’t feel too hungry.
Ingredients
- Sifted all-purpose flour: 2¾ cups
- Confectioners' sugar: 4 cups
- Salt: 2¼ teaspoons
- Shortening: 3 cups
- Vanilla extract: 1 tablespoon
- Chopped walnuts: 4 ounces
Instructions
- Start with sifting together flour, confectioners' sugar and salt. Use a neat large mixer bowl for this purpose.
- Add other ingredients such as, shortening, vanilla and chopped walnuts. If you have strength in your arms, mix all the ingredients with a large spoon. Otherwise, it is better to use an electric mixer.
- Use only low speed mixing, and wait for all the ingredients to blend together. A nice smooth material will be formed after blending.
- Now, it is the time to refrigerate the dough for at least half an hour after rolling it on the floured counter. The refrigeration is really important, as it will make the dough firm enough to slice.
- There is no time to waste. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Once the dough is firm, remove it from the refrigerator and slice into ⅜ inch thick slices. Before cutting the dough into slices, use parchment paper to line the cookie sheets.
- The final step is baking the cookies not more than 10 minutes. After that, delicious white cookies will be ready to eat. If you find that the cookies are turning brown, you may reduce the baking time.
