How to Make Fabric Softener Sachets

However, with a little creative use of time, you can spare yourself the extra cost and make fabric softener sachets yourself at home. It is really easy and you will be proud of the effort in the end.

– Fabric
– Scissors
– Dryer sheets
– Sewing machine
– Needle
– Thread
– Fabric glue

You can both sew the sachets and glue them using fabric glue. We will teach you both the methods. Choose a fabric of which you want to make the sachets. Cut it into squares of pieces of the desired size you want. You can make a sachet of square 4 inches to 10 inches. You will have to allow a seam of at least ΒΌ inch on all sides, reducing the overall size by 1 inch. Cut the fabric using sharp scissors.

Place two fabrics together and sew three of the sides, leaving the fourth one open. So you will have an open bag. Turn it inside out and stuff the dryer sheets into it, as much as it can take. Sew the fourth side to shut the fabric off on all sides using a needle and thread since you cannot use the sewing machine for it. Do the same for the rest of the sachets.

If you want to glue the fabrics together, it is really easy. Place two pieces of fabric on a smooth table with the unfinished sides facing upward. Apply a layer of glue to the three edges of one piece. Spread the glue well. Press the second piece of fabric over the first one and fit the edges together. Let the glue dry well before you proceed. You can place a book over the fabric for better adherence.

When the two pieces of fabric have adhered well, fill the bag with fabric softener. Once full, apply glue on the fourth side and press the two mouths together to seal the sachet completely. Be sure to take your time and carefully glue all the pieces together. Remember you add different decorative elements to these sachets to give them a nice touch.
