Ingredients
  • Butter, room temperature: 1 cup
  • Firmly-packed brown sugar: ¾ cup
  • Eggs: 2
  • Granulated sugar: ¾ cup
  • All-purpose flour: 1⅓ cups
  • Baking baking powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda: ½ teaspoon
  • Old-fashioned rolled oats: 3 cups
  • Raisins (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the cookie sheets by spraying them with cooking spray or brushing them with oil.
  2. Take a large mixing bowl and cream together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar. The mixture should be fluffy and light. Add eggs to the mixture one by one and keep beating till it is smooth.
  3. Add the baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon (grounded) and flour. Stir it with a wooden spoon. Next, add in the rolled oats. Keep stirring till they are properly combined. If you plan to add raisins, nut or oats, do it in this step.
  4. Take a tablespoon and put round tablespoons of the dough on the oiled cookie sheets. Make sure that the size of each dough ball should not be bigger than a walnut.
  5. Put in the preheated oven and bake for 9 to 12 minutes depending on the heat of your oven.
  6. Check to see that the bottoms of the cookie are golden and the tops are of light brown color. Take them out of the oven and let them cool on wire racks.
