What if you are left with some unused mashed potatoes? You have two options: either to put them in bin or to use them for a very tasty and easy to make dish. And if we talk about using leftover mashed potatoes then the first thing that comes to our minds is none other than fishcakes. Homemade fishcakes are rich in taste as well as much healthy as compared to the ones bought from the market. Following steps will help you to make very tasty and crispy fish cakes using mashed potatoes and fish along with other easily available ingredients.
Ingredients
- Mashed Potatoes – 250 grams
- Fish – 250 grams
- Oil for frying
- Lemon – 2 tablespoon
- White flour – 2 tablespoon
- Garlic – 2 tablespoon
- Coriander – 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric – ¼ teaspoon
- Mustard – ½ teaspoon
- Red chili – ½ teaspoon
- Cumin – ¼ teaspoon
- Green – 2 (sliced)
- Bread crumbs – 1 Cup
Instructions
- Take a frying pan and pour 2 tablespoon of oil in it and then heat it.
- Add mustard seeds along with crushed cumin in it and fry them until they start blazing.
- Add salt, fish, lemon juice,red chilies and turmeric after that mix them all.
- Add 250 grams of mashed potatoes in it along with green chilies, coriander leaves and garlic chives.
- Mix them really well to produce a good batter.
- Now make well shaped medium sized patties from batter created in step 4.
- Spread white flour on patties and then add a coating of bread crumbs over them before frying.
- Now deep fry all of the patties until they turn crispy and they gather brownish colour.
- Your fishcakes are ready to eat now.
