How to Make Fluid Replacement Drink
Fluid replacement drinks are instant energy drinks meant to consume during, before or after weight training or sports activities. These drinks are rich in starch and carbs to give athletes ‘free form’ energy. Carbs and starch in these drinks are digested within seconds, giving athletes an instant boost up. There are several commercial fluid replacement drinks available out there. However, since these drinks are extremely expensive, it is always recommended to learn to make your own fluid replacement drinks to save your hard earned cash.

Total time: 5 min
Yield: 1 serving
Utensils: Glass, teaspoon
Ingredients:
Powdered drink mix
Cold water: 2 quarts
Salt: ½ teaspoon
Sugar: ½ cup
Orange juice: if required
Instructions

1
Start with mixing sugar in water thoroughly. Make sure you add only the aforementioned amount to sugar and not more. You need to ensure that the sugar is well dissolved before you move onto other ingredients.
-
2
Next, add salt to the mixture and stir it well. Again, before you proceed to other ingredients, you need to ensure salt and sugar have dissolved properly.
-
3
You can use a blender or a shaker bottle if you want, but plain glass and teaspoon would do the job too.
-
4
Now, add your favourite powdered energy drink to this mix. Unsweetened Kool-Aid is the recommended drink but you can go for anything you like.

To add taste a little more energy to the mix, you can add orange juice to it. Remember, orange is not a necessity here but it will only make the drink taste better. Orange has potassium which is an electrolyte and is capable of giving you that much needed energy boost.

Mix all the ingredients well and your fluid replacement drink is ready to serve.
