Beef Stroganoff is a comfort dish. The perfect combination of beef, butter, broth and cream makes it irresistible. It can be prepared fairly quickly and easily. If you want a quick meal full of taste then this is definitely one of the best options.
Ingredients
  • Ground beef - 1 pound
  • Yellow onion, chopped - ½ (about ⅓ cup)
  • Garlic, minced - 1 teaspoon (about 1-2 cloves)
  • Butter - 2-3 tbsp
  • Beef broth - 1½ cups
  • Sour cream - 1 cup
  • Can cream of mushroom soup - 1
  • Handful of mushrooms - (About 8 oz.) roughly chopped
  • Flour - 3 tbsp.
  • Salt & Pepper - To taste
  • Egg Noodles - As needed
Instructions
  1. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Cook the noodles in it according to the directions given on the package.
  3. Take a frying pan and turn the heat to medium high, cook the meat thoroughly and it should be browned. Do not stir it a lot as the chunks would break up.
  4. Take the beef out and drain it on an absorbent paper.
  5. Remove excess grease from the pan and put it back on the stove.
  6. Put 3 tablespoon butter and chopped mushrooms and onion in it.
  7. Cook them on medium heat until the onions become soft.
  8. Add garlic and cook for another 2 minutes, do not let the garlic burn.
  9. To the same pan, add the flour and stir.
  10. Pour in the beef broth and whisk hard so that no lumps are formed in the pan.
  11. Keep the heat to high and let it boil for 3 minutes.
  12. Turn the heat to medium and add the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream.
  13. Give the mixture a stir so that it gets smooth.
  14. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and taste it to make adjustments accordingly.
  15. Add some garlic powder.
  16. If the mixture gets too thick, just add some broth or milk and make it to desired consistency.
  17. Add the ground beef and let it heat.
  18. Serve it hot on a plate of egg noodles.
