How To Make Mexican Salsa

If you are planning to invite your friends or relatives to your place, don’t forget to add Mexican salsa to your menu chart. It will make your gathering a hit and leave the people wanting more. There are several recipes of Mexican salsa available on the internet, but this recipe combines the perfect blend of herbs and spices. Even if you don’t have prior knowledge or experience in cooking, you need not worry since this is very simple to make. All you need to do is bake a couple of ingredients, chop the others and put them all in a blender to make a thick paste. No cooking required whatsoever.

Utensils: Oven, Aluminium Foil, Cutting Board, Large Kitchen Knife, Can Opener, Blender or Food Processor, Bowl

Ingredients:
Red Bell Pepper: 1
Jalapeno: 1
White Onion: ½
Cloves of Garlic: 3 large
Handful of Cilantro: 1
Canned Tomatoes: 42 ounces
Lemon: 1
Salt: To taste
Crushed Red Pepper: To taste

    Bake Jalapeno and Red Bell Pepper

    Place the Jalapeno and Red Bell pepper on the aluminium foil and place them in the oven to “Fire Roast” them.

    Note: Keep checking and rotating jalapeno and bell pepper after approximately every five minutes until both sides are blistered.

    Chop the white onion into small cubes

    Using a sharp knife, remove the outer most skin of the onion, cut it in half and then mince into many fine pieces. Put the minced onion in the blender or food processor.

    Mince the garlic

    Husk and halve three large garlic cloves. Mince them into small pieces and add them to the mixture in the blender.

    Chop the cilantro

    Take a large handful of cilantro and separate the leaves from the bottom portion of the stem. Place the leafy part on the cutting board, mince it and add to blender as well.

    Take Jalapeno and Red Bell pepper out of the oven

    Remove jalapeno and bell pepper from the oven and steam for approximately eight minutes in a covered bowl. Then remove the skin from jalapeno and bell pepper. Also remove the seeds from the bell pepper and discard. Chop both bell pepper and jalapeno into small pieces and add to the blender.

    Drain canned tomatoes

    Open the can of tomatoes, drain them and add them to the mixture as well.

    Add lemon juice

    Take one lemon, cut it in half and squeeze its juice into the blender.

    Blend the mixture

    Cover the blender and pulse on high until you get a smooth paste.

    Add seasoning and enjoy!!!

    Add salt and red chilli flakes to it according to your taste and enjoy.
