Note: If you want best results then make sure to use a rich, non-shimmery texture. -
5
Prepare Newspaper
Grab any newspaper on-hand and gently cut it into 2" x 1" strips, or you can slash them according to the size of your nails. Cut ten designs, one for each of your nail.
Note: It is better to cut 3 to 4 more for safety measures as you can use them in case any of them is damaged during application. -
6
Dip your nails in rubbing alcohol
Once the nail color dries well, grab a cap of a small jar and gently pour some rubbing alcohol into it. Now, either plunge your fingers into it or apply and rub it against your nail bed using your fingers.
Note: Make sure not to dip the nails more than few seconds as the rubbing alcohol can dissolve your nail paint. -
7
Dip newspaper strips into rubbing alcohol
Now, pour some alcohol into a small mixing bowl and dip one of the newspaper strips into it. Shake it gently until the strip wets. -
8
Place the strip on your nail bed
Take out the newspaper strip from the alcohol and place it on the top of your nail bed with the words facing down. Now, make sure not to move until your nail dries completely. -
9
Press the strip with an alcohol-dampened paper towel
Place an alcohol-dampened paper towel on your coated nail and press with medium force. -
10
Wait for few minutes
Hold it for approximately 10 to 15 minutes until the ink of the newspaper imprints on your nail thoroughly. -
11
Peel off the newspaper strip
Now, remove the towel and gently peel off the newspaper strip. Wait for a few minutes until the newspaper print on your nail dries up well. -
12
Repeat the same method with rest of your nails
You can see the newspaper ink nicely imprinted on your nail. Now, if it really works, then repeat the same procedure with the rest of your nails to get newspaper prints on them. -
13
Apply topcoat of nail paint
Now moving on, top the newspaper prints with any of your favorite glossy topcoat. The glossiness of your nail paint helps to improve and step up the prints on your nails, creating a really one-of-a-kind typographic upshot! The top coat of nail polish is really important as without it, the newspaper prints on your nails will rub off. Besides protection, the top coat also provides your nails some additional shine.
Note: It is better to select the top coat according to the color of the base coat. Otherwise, you can apply any other color that you want. -
