Oreo Chocolate pie is a quick recipe, guaranteed to be a favourite amongst both kids and adults. While elders love chocolate pudding, kids crave Oreos, so combine them together to make a delicious dessert that does not need any baking or beating.
Ingredients
- Cold milk - 2 ½ Cups and 2 Cups
- Oreo cookies - 24 pieces
- Whipped cream - 1 can
- Sugar - ¼ cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder - ¼ cup
- Cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- Salt - 1 pinch
- Egg - 1 large
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips - 4 ounces
Instructions
- Start making your Oreo Chocolate Pie by preparing chocolate pudding.
- Combine sugar, cornstarch, cocoa powder and salt in a heavy bottomed saucepan.
- Gradually add two cups of milk to the dry ingredients, whisking continuously.
- Set the saucepan over the stove and bring to boil, while stirring constantly.
- Let the mixture boil for 3 to 5 minutes or until the pudding is thick and smooth.
- Remove the pudding from the heat and pour it into a bowl containing two lightly beaten eggs, whisking constantly.
- Also whisk in the chocolate chips until they melt completely and your pudding looks like a smooth paste.
- Now place 10 to 15 Oreo cookies in a Ziploc plastic bag and crush them thoroughly.
- Add these crushed cookies to the chocolate pudding you just made and mix well to incorporate them.
- Line the bottom of your pie crust with whole Oreos and pour about half of the chocolate pudding over the cookies.
- Top the chocolate pudding with another layer of whole Oreo cookies.
- Mix the remainder of the chocolate pudding with half a can of whipped cream.
- Pour this mixture on the top of the layer of Oreo cookies so that they are completely covered.
- Top the chocolate pudding with another layer of whole Oreos, and then cover the pie with whipped cream.
- You can also stick a few Oreos on the whipped cream, making it look more appealing.
- Place your Chocolate Oreo pie in the refrigerator for a few hours so that it can really set before you serve.
- You can also put the pie in the freezer if you want to enjoy a frozen treat.
