Pecan is one of the tastiest nuts which are found in the south region. They can be used in preparing many recipes for parties and family dinners. Furthermore, it is very nutritious and can be combined with many other things to make some tasty things to eat.
Ingredients
  • Pecans, toasted whole: 2 cups
  • Butter: 4 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1 tablespoon
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Light corn syrup: 1¼ cup
  • Sugar: 2½ cup
  • Baking soda: 3 teaspoon
Instructions
  1. Take a non-stick saucepan and put it on a medium heat stove. Add sugar, water, corn syrup and salt into the saucepan and keep stirring the mixture until the sugar is dissolved completely.
  2. Now, cook the sugar mixture on a high heat by using a candy thermometer until it becomes hard.
  3. Then, add butter and pecans and cook up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. You have to keep stirring the mixture so that the nuts don’t get burnt.
  4. Pull off the heat and put in baking soda while beating to lather for around 30 seconds.
  5. You will have to pour the mixture on to buttered pans at once. Then, spread it with a spatula as slim as possible. Let the brittle cool down before stretching it with the glove to make its quality better.
  6. You should know that brittle has a tremendous shelf life and you can preserve it for a long time (at least for 2 months). But, you will have to keep it in the airtight containers.
