1
Preheat the oven
You can either cook a pumpkin puree on a stove or an oven. If you are choosing the latter option, don’t forget preheating the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. -
2
Slice the pumpkin
Using a sharp knife, slice the pumpkin into equal pieces. Ideally, you should make four pieces. -
3
Remove the pumpkin seeds
When you divide the pumpkin into smaller pieces, you will see a lot of seeds inside it; remove them in order to make a puree. This can be done, using a knife, spoon or a fork. Don’t waste the seeds, as they can be roasted and used in other recipes. -
4
Peel the skin of the pumpkin
There are some nutritional benefits of the pumpkin skin and it is better to cook it too. However, some people don’t like it in their recipe. They can simply peel it off using a large peeler. -
5
Place the pumpkin pieces in a pan
In order to cook the pumpkin, you need to put it inside a roasting pan with one cup of water. Make sure that the pieces are facing down in the pan. -
6
Bake the pumpkin
After adding seasonings of your choice, bake the pumpkin for about 90 minutes. You should keep the oven heat at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. -
7
Scoop flesh out of pumpkin
Once the pumpkin is tender, scoop its flesh and puree in a food processor. You can then serve it to your family with cheese or any other thing you like.
