Spinach is one of the most commonly used green vegetables in the world. Not only does spinach enhance the taste of your food but it is also a source of essential vitamins and iron. If you are looking to make a salad from spinach then the warm spinach salad should be the obvious choice for you.
Ingredients
- Fresh baby spinach - ¾ lb.
- Olive oil - 2 tbsp
- Medium red onion, thinly sliced - ⅓ cup
- Crumbled feta cheese - ¼ cup
- Feta cheese, crumbled - 7 ounces
- Red wine vinegar or herb-flavored vinegar - 2 tbsp
- Thick cut bacon, sliced into 2-inch pieces - 4 pieces
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Apple wedges or croutons - optional
Instructions
- Firstly, cook eggs in boiling water for about 15-20 minutes or until the white part and the yolk are fully cooked from inside.
- Peel the eggs and cut them into thick slices.
- Set the stove to medium temperature and cook the bacon in a frying pan until it is brown and crisp.
- Remove the bacon from the pan and leave about 1 tablespoon of oil in the pan.
- Next, take another small bowl and add salt, pepper, vinegar, red wine vinegar and olive oil.
- If you are looking to use artichokes in your salad then you will be required to drain them thoroughly and cut them into small pieces.
- Next, consider adding olive oil, vinegar and sugar into the bacon grease.
- Cook the ingredients for about 5 minutes to prepare the dressing mixture.
- Now put the bacon pieces back into the frying pan and continue to stir to ensure it is mixed properly.
- Put the onion and spinach slices in another large bowl and put the dressing over it.
- Toss the salad to make sure the spinach and the red onions are completely coated with the dressing.
- If you want you can add some croutons or apple wedges to enhance the flavour.
