How to Make Sure you Learn Things Quicker
Most people don’t give it much thought, but we human beings are constantly learning new things. Right from the time we are born, we learn how to eat, drink, walk and talk, before we grow up and move on to learning more complex things like building, drawing and solving complicated problems. It is nearly impossible to go through your daily routine without coming across opportunities to learn new things – however, some people learn them faster, while others are slower. Remember, every healthy human being has the same abilities as another (generally) and it comes down to technique and method in the end.

1
Be more observant
If you are one to go about your business without noticing things and being observant, you will probably find it hard to learn things. If you are attentive and look around yourself during a normal day, you will see that a lot of things are just waiting to be discovered and understood. Don’t wait to learn things only when you need them. If you have a basic idea about things before getting into details, you will learn faster. -
2
Break it down into parts
If you are tasked with learning something, or need to do it for yourself, be it driving, flying, typing, swimming or riding, it is strongly recommended that you break it down into small parts. For instance, if you are learning how to drive, you will find it much easier to do once you see it as a sum of its parts. Understand how the car runs in the first place, how the accelerator works in tandem with the break and clutch. Start learning the small bits and then put them in context to understand the bigger picture. Likewise, if you are learning something from a book, break it all down into paragraphs and make outlines that can help you remember the components of the whole piece. -
3
Put up charts or photos around your living space
Pictures, diagrams and charts are much more effective learning tools compared to text or audio. Put up charts etc around your house, related to the thing you are learning, so that you get to look at them every time you get up or walk around. This will help you remember things better and eventually learn faster. -
4
Revise and Practice
Learning something in a day or a few hours is not that hard. However, retaining that knowledge is the real challenge. It is very important that you focus on revising whatever you learn and then practice it frequently to cement it.
