Fruitcakes are loved by everyone and can be eaten anytime in the day with tea, coffee or juice. Normally fruit cakes don't take much time, but while preparing the Texas style fruitcake one has to be patient as is it takes quite a while to bake.
Ingredients
  • Loaf pans
  • Baking spray
  • Aluminium foil
  • Almonds
  • Candied pineapple: ½ cup
  • Candied cherries: ½ cup
  • Candied orange: ½ cup
  • Candied lemon: ½ cup
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Nutmeg
  • Ginger
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla
  • Almond extract
  • Milk
  • Fruit Juice
  • Texas pecans
Instructions
  1. First of all you will have to preheat the oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease the base of a loaf pan using either a baking spray or a brush. The important thing here is to apply an even layering.
  3. Once you have greased the loaf pan cover it with an aluminium foil.
  4. Chop the almonds into small pieces, so that they can easily settle in with the rest of the ingredients. You can grind them too but if they become too fine, the whole crunchy almond texture can go missing in the final produce.
  5. Chop the candied fruits of your choice and mix them with the almonds. This will add further to the crunchiness.
  6. Take a small bowl and add some flour, baking powder and salt to it. Mix the ingredients and then add Texas pecan, vanilla, fruit juice and milk to make a dough with nice consistency.
  7. Take another bowl and beat butter, sugar and eggs in it. You will get a creamy mixture, which should be added to the other ingredients, which were blended earlier.
  8. Finally, pour the mixture into the loaf pan and bake for 90 minutes.
