How to Make the Best Puppy Chow

Best served up to humans, this Puppy Chow recipe is also known as Muddy Buddy Recipe.  This crispy and yummy sweet treat has derived its name from its appearance as dog food, but it is much better in taste, appearance and aroma.

Best Puppy Chow is basically a cereal-based dessert snack that you can make within a few minutes. Your whole family and guests will enjoy and love it. Enough for a good-sized crowd, this dessert can be traditionally served in a large serving bowl or can be parceled out into a decorated bag pr box.

This Best Puppy Chow is an ideal to hit your holiday celebrations – and beyond! Your kids will simply love it as it makes an amazing snack for after school or movie nights. It can be thrown together with basic cooking skills and just 6 ingredients. You can add some colored sugar or assorted sprinkles to the ingredients in order to add various colors to your puppy chows. Make them in large quantity and store in an airtight jar to use throughout the week.

Utensils: two 1-gallon zip lock bags, mixing bowl, parchment papers or wax paper, microwave safe bowl, microwave oven, mixing spoon, tray

Ingredients:

– 9 cups Cereal squares – combination of corn, wheat and rice cereals
– 1 cup chocolate chips
– ½ cup creamy peanut butter
– ¼ cup butter
– 2 teaspoons vanilla
– 1½ cups powdered sugar

Instructions

    Take a large tray and line it with parchment papers or wax paper and place aside. Now, place the 9 cups of Cereal squares in a large mixing bowl and set aside.

    In a large microwave safe bowl, mix together together 1 cup chocolate chips, half cup of peanut butter and ¼ cup of butter.

    Put the butter chocolate mixture in your microwave oven and microwave it on high temperature for about one minute or until melted completely.

    Turn off your microwave oven, stir the mixture and microwave for 25 to 30 more seconds.

    Take out the butter-chocolate mixture from microwave oven and stir in 2 tablespoons of vanilla.

    Continue stirring for 5 seconds to incorporate the vanilla into the chocolate mixture.

    Pour out the smooth chocolate-butter mixture over the cereals in the large mixing bowl and use stir with a plastic blending spoon until all cereal is evenly coated from all sides.

    Take the two zip lock bags and equally divide the coated cereals among them.

    Now sprinkle ¾ cup of the powdered sugar to each zip lock bag and seal the properly. Here you can add color to your Puppy Chows by adding in some colored sugar or assorted sprinkles along with the powdered sugar.

    Pick one of the zip lock bags and shake it thoroughly until the coated cereals and coated well in the powdered sugar.

    Unseal the bag and spread the coated cereals on the lined tray.

    Repeat 10 and 11 with the other zip lock bag.

    Set the tray aside at room temperature or place in your refrigerator until the Puppy Chows are cool completely.

    Your Puppy Chows are ready; serve them straight away or shift them into a large airtight jar and store in your refrigerator.
