How to Make your Own Granola
The pre-packaged snacks at the grocery stores lose their traditional taste, aroma and flavor with the passage of time. Moreover, they contain some ingredients that you don’t want your family to have. So make your own granola at home to enjoy an original and healthful flavor. You can customize it according to your own taste. Make granola in large quantity and store it an airtight jar to use throughout the week.

Utensils: Oven, two medium sheet pans, two mixing bowls, one large serving bowl or an airtight container, wooden spoon or spatula
Ingredients:
Rolled oats: 3 cups
Slivered almonds: 1 cup
Cashews: 1 cup
Shredded sweet coconut: ¾ cup
Dark brown sugar: ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons
Maple syrup: ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons
Vegetable oil: ¼ cup
Salt: ¾ teaspoon
Raisins: 1 cup

Preheat your oven to 250 °F.

Use your hand to mix rolled oats and slivered almonds in a large shallow bowl.

Top the mixture with the crushed sweet coconut, cashews and brown dark sugar. Merge the newly added ingredients, cover the bowl and set aside.

In another mixing bowl, mix up maple syrup, vegetable oil and salt. Blend this mixture until the salt dissolves completely.

Now drizzle this syrup-oil mixture over the dry ingredients in the large mixing bowl toss thoroughly.

Divide the mixture equally among two medium sheet pans and place in your pre-heat oven. Cook the mixtures for the next 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring after every 10 minutes in order to achieve an even color.

Take out the sheet pans from oven and transfer the cooked mixtures into a large serving bowl.

Top it with one cup of raisins.

Sprinkle the Granola with 2 tablespoons of dark brown sugar and drizzle 2 tablespoons of maple syrup over the top. Toss it until equally distributed.

Your homemade Granola is ready; serve it straight away or shift it into an airtight plastic jar and store in your refrigerator.
