How to Microwave Potato Chips
Potato chips are an all-time favourite snack food, however the deep fried and salt laden pieces of delicious food are an unhealthy snack choice (everything in moderation). Luckily, some modifications in terms of preparation and cooking method can go a long way in keeping your chips delicious while impacting your health in a more positive manner.
Although they can only be cooked in small batches at a time, the process is simple and if done repeatedly produces a lot of tasty goodies for the familia.
Prep time: 30 to 60 minutes
Accessories:
Parchment or wax paper
a microwave
vegetable peeler
Ingredients:
Medium potatoes: 4 (Yukon Gold works great)
salt to taste
Instructions
-
1
Scrub Clean
Place the potatoes under running water and scrub them well to clean completely. -
2
Slice Em
Using a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife, thinly slice the potatoes. Leave the skin on as there are valuable nutrients in it. -
3
Prepare the Microwave
Place parchment or wax paper along the bottom of the microwave. Place a single layer of the potato slices along the top of the paper layer.
Cover the potatoes with a second layer of parchment or wax paper. -
4
Cook Em
Cook the potatoes on high for 8 minutes or until the slices are browned and crisp. 8 minutes is the suggested cook time, however this may vary with each model of microwave. Experiment with the timing in order to get the desired crispness and taste. -
5
Cool and Salt
Plate the chips and allow them to cool. Add a little bit of salt as desired to taste. Prepare another batch of potato chips by repeated Steps 3 and 4. -

Enjoy
Once slightly cool, your delicious and healthy chips are ready to eat. Enjoy!
