1
Go to a professional rustproofing center
You need to drive your car to a professional rustproofing center in order to avoid corrosion before it starts. The professional rustproofing workers will apply some waxes in order to prevent rusting. They will even cover hidden areas of your car where corrosion is most likely to occur. They will also remove some parts of your car in order to minimise rusting. -
2
Wash your car regularly
You should wash your car regularly i.e. once or twice a week. This is to make sure you get rid of all dust and dirt particles which were in contact with your cars.
Dead bugs, bird faeces and other waste particles also stuck with your car. Washing your car gets rid of these things which can even ruin the paint and lead to corrosion. -
3
Check drain holes
You need to look at the drain holes when you are washing your car. You need to unplug them or the water will be jammed and eventually lead to corrosion.
The drain holes are most commonly placed on side of hood, end of the doors and side of the trunk. In order to clean a drain hole which is plugged, you can use your old toothbrush. -
4
Apply wax
You need to apply wax after every few months or when appropriate. Remember to get a quality car wax. -
5
Seal scratches
You need to quickly re-paint or cover the scratches. If they are left open, chances of corrosion gets higher in that area. -
6
Watch your car thoroughly
You need to check your car regularly and take good care. You check areas around windows and fenders which are most like to corrode first.
