Identifying Alkaline Foods
It is not very simple and easy to identify alkaline-forming foods. However, you can pick them gradually while asking someone or reading it online. For example, most fresh fruits such as watermelons and mangoes etc are alkaline-forming foods. Similarly, fresh vegetables such as celery, parsley and seaweed are alkaline foods. Also, herbs like ginger and garlic are alkaline-forming foods. To help yourself in the longer run in identification of alkaline-forming foods, you can make a list of names of the foods. As soon as you learn that a food is alkaline-forming food, you can add to the list and gradually you can have names of almost all or a majority of alkaline-forming foods that you consume regularly. -

Identifying Acid-Forming Foods
The process to identify acid-forming food is similar to the alkaline-forming foods. You can also search on the internet and make a list of their names and then buying them can help you learn their names by heart, which will make the identification process easier for you. For examples most high protein foods are acid-forming foods, such as grains, meat, poultry, sugar, eggs, soft drinks, beverages and alcohol etc. -

Combine Foods
It is not recommended that you use excessive quantity or any quantity of one food and leave the other one altogether. This will affect your body's efficiency and may cause some health issues. It is better to mix both foods to a certain extent to keep your body healthy. A right quantity from both foods will depend on the requirement of your body. Sometimes you might need more proteins and thus you will need to eat more acid-forming food and sometimes you need alkaline foods, thus you will need to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. In normal circumstances, you should maintain intake of a balanced diet.
