1
Make a plan
The first thing you want to do is open your closet, take a look at all of your shoes and make a plan. It is important that your plan is simple and easy to follow. This is the time to decide which shoes you want to store, keep or throw out. You might also want to organize other parts of your closet to make some room for all of your shoes. -
2
Take out all shoes
Carefully take out all of your shoes from the closet and start making pairs based on the season in which you wear some particular footwear. Make sure to check all the way to the back of your closet for any lost pairs of shoes. This is a good time to separate shoes that you don’t want anymore. -
3
Donate or throw out shoes
You can donate or throw out shoes that you do not want as they are just taking up valuable space in your precious closet. -
4
Remove boxes
Take out all of the original shoe boxes that you are probably saving in your closet. These take up a lot of space and you can easily use them to store other things. -
5
Use plastic containers
Take your clear plastic containers and organize them in a way that makes sense to you based on your shoe usage. Shoes that you wear all of the time can be put in the front as those that you only wear on special occasions can be stored at the back of your closet. -
6
Label
Using a black marker, label each container so that you can easily see what is inside. Take your time and make sure to label everything correctly. Keep a few containers open for other items like laces, shoe polish etc. -
7
Stack containers
Carefully stack all of the containers in an organized manner based on how often you use a particular pair of shoes.
