    Type of monopod to choose

    Pick a monopod which is stable and versatile. Also get one which has many collars so you can easily adjust the height according to your desires. Furthermore, you need to choose a monopod with three-legged foot. This will further increase the stability.

    Attach camera

    After getting the monopod, you need to place the camera on it. Attach the bottom of the camera to monopod. Remember that many Single Lens Reflex or SLR cameras have screw attachments in the bottom. Many point and shoot cameras are also equipped with screw attachments.

    Adjust the height

    Now you need to adjust according to your desire height. You simply need to release the collars and pull the rod. After extending the rod according to your desired length, you need to re-lock the collars. This will prevent the monopod’s rod from slipping.     You need to stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Coming towards the placement of your hands, place one hand on the camera and the other on the upper part of the monopod. This will improve your monopod’s stability.
