1
Be willing to get prepared
The National Preparedness Month will not mean anything if you are not willing to get yourself prepared.
Dedicate yourself to the program and watch out for any challenges which may arise in the form of disasters, terrorist attacks, fires, or even accidents. Mental preparation is the key to getting yourself started. -
2
Make an emergency plan
Making an emergency plan will not require assistance from experts; you can do that by getting yourself and your family members involved.
Since you are observing the National Preparedness Month on an individual basis (unlike business or within an organization), you can make a plan based on these three things: family disaster plan, homeland security for family, and an emergency plan.
Remember all of these plans are intended to keep you and your family safe, helping you respond to disaster, and unforeseen challenges in an effective way.
You should know that sticking together during a mishap is the key to staying safe. And for this, you should get your head together and craft a plan. -
3
Get an emergency kit
When disaster strikes, it comes with several challenges and difficulties. For instance, you may find yourself searching for food after a tornado sweeps through your city. Similarly water becomes a rarity after a flood hits your town or city. In order to stay on the safe side and prepare yourself for calamities like these, you need an emergency kit. A simple emergency kit comes with water supplies, food, and other necessary things like first aid. -
4
Be informed
Being informed is the key to staying alert and prepared. Get as much information about different disasters and their effects. You can search the Internet for basic information, if you do not have time to take classes or enroll in program designed for preparedness.
