How to Play Dominoes Game

Board games can be very interesting. Although they are not everyone’s cup of tea, there are many people around the world who love to play them. These games do not require physical strength but rather test you mental skills and the ability to maneuver in tough conditions.

Dominoes are one of the world’s most famous board games and has been around for ages. It is not the easiest of games to master and needs a bit of understanding before one can play it with some degree of success. The rules are not very complicated but must be understood properly. Once you start playing, you will surely enjoy it.

    The Dominoes

    There must be 28 of them, ranging from double blank ones to double six ones. All must be present at the start of the game.

    Shuffle

    Shuffle all the dominoes so that they get mixed up. They should be faced down while they get shuffled so that there is no unfair advantage.

    Number of Dominoes

    In case of two players, they need to draw seven dominoes each. This should be done at random and neither of the opponents should look for what they are picking. In case, three or four players are participating, each player should take five dominoes each.

    Start

    The person with highest double goes first. If none of the players has a double, the one with the highest number of dots gets to go first. Lay a similar valued domino next to the first one and make sure that they touch each other. If there isn’t one that corresponds with the value, you can pick one from the spare pool. If there are no dominoes left in the pile, pass on the turn. Always conceal your dominoes from the opponents as knowing your hand can benefit them in a big way.

    Winning

    If you are the first person who runs out of dominoes, you will win. In case a turn is passed by all the participants, the person with the lowest score wins. This is determined by the number of dots on the domino tiles that are with each one of the players.

    In case a player reaches fifty points in a game of two players or a hundred points in the game of three, the game comes to an end. The person who has the lowest points wins the game.
