The most essential thing is to wash your face with water. This will keep the oil at bay and also remove dirt. Use a gentle cleanser twice a day. This way your skin will remain free of excess oils and dead cells. Do not over do it as using a cleanser more than twice a day will make your skin dry and can also irritate the skin. Do not scrub your skin with hard cloth as it is very sensitive.

Search for a renowned acne cream and apply it to your blemishes directly. It will help in drying up the extra oil and killing bacteria. It is advisable that the cream contains salicylic acid or benzoyl as one of the main ingredients. These ingredients may dry your skin a little so apply an oil free moisturizer afterwards. Do not apply the acne cream daily if your skin starts to get irritated.

It is advised that you use makeup sparingly. Do not do heavy makeup on a daily basis. Even when you are applying makeup, make sure that you wash your hands properly before application. This way, there will be fewer germs on your fingers. To be more cautious, do not use your fingers to apply the makeup, instead, use a cotton pad.  Analyze the makeup products you are using: if you have been using very creamy heavy foundations, it is time to use powder instead. Powder based makeup is light and also does not clog the pores. Do not forget to wash the makeup off before going to sleep. Also keep your makeup brushes clean by soaking them in soapy water.

Keep an eye on your diet and take the required amount of minerals and vitamins. If you aren't getting enough nutrition from food, take a multi-vitamin on daily basis. Vitamin A is good for skin and prevents the production of excess oil.
