How to Recycle Paper at Home

Paper is used in different forms such as magazines, newspapers, documents, calendars and plain pages. Once you use all of that, it goes to waste. Some people visit a local recycling centre in order to get the paper products recycled, which is quite good for the environment.

However, there are different ways of recycling the paper products at home. You can reuse them over and over again and then finally send them to the recycling centre or drop them off in a recycle bin.

    Reuse newspapers to absorb odours

    You will have plenty of old newspapers at home, which can be used to absorb the odours from your shoes or bags. Moreover, you can also retain the shape of different items, by stuffing up the newspapers inside them. Simply remove the newspaper, when you wish to use the product and then stuff it back inside later.

    With the help of large magazine and calendar papers, you can wrap up small gifts. All you need to do is find a colourful paper and you will be able to save a lot of money on wrapping papers.

    Clean your windows

    Apply the liquid cleaning window solution on the newspaper and start cleaning the windows of your house. Moreover, you can also wipe off dust from other glass products. After you have finished the cleaning, you can drop off the newspaper in the recycle bin.

    Polish shoes

    If you don’t find a brush to polish your shoes properly, you can shine them with the help of a plain paper. Apply some polish to the shoes before rubbing the paper on them. If you don’t get the desired results, make the paper a bit damp.

    Another very good usage of used papers is that you can make animal bedding with them. The best thing would be to use a newspaper for this purpose, as it resists bacteria and is not harmful for your pet.

    With the help of newspapers, you can ripen fruits and vegetables easily. Simply wrap the food items as a gift and leave them for a day to get your desired results. If the fruit or vegetables are still not good to be consumed, leave them wrapped for one more day.
