2
Apply toothpaste
If the furniture polish has not worked, put a little toothpaste on a damp cloth, and rub the area gently. Toothpaste is mildly abrasive, which will help scrape off the stain. -
3
Toothpaste + Baking soda
If toothpaste has failed you, you can combine it with baking soda, and apply it on the affected area.
The required quantity of both ingredients entirely depends on the size of the stain. If the patch is not too large, use a quarter teaspoon of each item. -
4
Use mild solvent
If the combination of toothpaste and baking soda does not work, you must try a mild solvent, such mineral spirits or paint thinner. Damp a piece of cloth with the liquid, and gently rub the area.
Make sure the cloth is not too wet, because it could make things worse. There are bright chances that this step will help you remove the stain.
Let the wood dry after completing the procedure. You might apply any furniture polish to give the wood a fresh look. In order to avoid such problem in future, cover your furniture with a sheet.
