How to Remove Set in Ink from Clothes

You do not always have to go to the drycleaners to help you as there are ways to treat the stain at home. You can use alcohol, milk, hairspray and glycerine to help your cause. If nothing works, you should trust the drycleaner to help you as they have a variety of chemicals which will remove the ink stains from the clothes.

    Use Alcohol or spirit

    Alcohol or methylated spirits are effective ways to remove ink stains. Use a cotton swab, dip it in some alcohol or spirit and carefully rub on the ink stain. Make sure that the fabric is dry when you use cotton on it. Use a new cotton swab for every attempt and use cold water on the area after some time to check how much of the stain is still left on the clothes.

    Use hairspray

    Place a paper towel under the shirt or the cloth and apply the hairspray to the area. The ink will dissolve when the hairspray is applied to the area. You can use a dry towel or a cloth to remove the stain.

    Use Milk

    Milk is also an effective way to remove ink stains. Both cold and warm milk can be used for the purpose of removing the ink stain. Dip the area of the stain in milk for a good half hour and then wash it with a detergent. You will see a major difference.

    When nothing works, you can always handover the clothes to a drycleaner. Drycleaners may cost you more but they would provide a guarantee to remove the stain. They have a variety of chemicals that are useful in serving the purpose.

    This is also an effective way to help in getting rid of ink stains. You should add a few drops of warm glycerine to the affected area and rub it with a cloth. Make sure you rub gently and then wash it with cold water.
