How to Repair a Wobbly Wooden Table

Wooden tables usually start wobbling with the passage of time, as the leg joints loosen, making the table unstable. Locate Loose Joints:
Before you start fixing your wobbly table, you must point out the loosen joints that are causing the table to become unstable. You may also find broken joints that were causing the table to wobble. To figure that out, you will need to set the table upside down and check the points where legs are joined to the table. Carefully check the bolts and screws that need to be tightened. Moreover, you can also check if they are unglued from the table.

Tighten Screws and Bolts:
Take an adjustable wrench and use it to tighten the nuts on the bolts that are used to hold the joint together. If you find any nut or bolt missing from the joint, replace it with a new one. Make sure you use the same bolt side. Otherwise, it will become difficult for you to stop the table from wobbling. In case, you find the base of the bolts loosened, then you can use a large sized bolt to tighten the joint. You can also drill new holes, if necessary. In addition to that, you can also use glue on the bolts, which will allow the nuts to strengthen their grip.

Fix Glued Joints:
If you find the glue become defective, where the leg of the table is joined with the table, just remove the leg from it. Using sandpaper, make the surface of the glued area smooth. Now apply the glue and insert the leg in the table. Allow the glue to dry for around 24 hours.
