In order to start the rooting process, you need to have the required device driver installed on your computer. If you don’t have the drivers for Motorola Droid X, download the following drivers from internet and install it on your computer.

After installing the above mentioned drivers, you need to download and install Petes Motorola RootTools. Download this compressed file from the internet PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.06.zip. Now you need to check whether you have winrar or winzip installed on your computer or not. If not, then download and install either one of it before jumping to the next step.

After the successful installation of winrar, extract it to a new folder. You can use either Winrar or Winzip for this process.

When the connection is successfully established, go to the new folder where extract files are present. Search and double- click the Pete’s Motorola Root Tools in order to start the program.
