After pointing out the exact damage, icing should be done to stop swelling on the knee. Swelling slows the process of healing and must be avoided. Now the player should take rest from the training that are to be held the next day and must resume light training on the day after that. He should also be playing with a knee support so that the ligaments don’t experience damage because of the pre-existing injury.
