We have all had to think about money at some point in time. Whether to spend or save, the choice is ours. And just like anything you own, you need to respect it and be conscious of it; if you want to get maximum value from. Saving money is one such way.

Whatever your reason for saving, delaying present comfort for future gain is not easy. With so many products and services just at our fingertips, it seems impossible. But is though? Mere mortals just like you dear reader have been saving since the first currency was printed. How did they do it? They just had to learn what you are about to, how to save money.

    It is easy for one to decide to embark on a saving journey to free themselves from debts, but it better to have a purpose that is motivating you to save, could be for a trip, emergency funds, or for the purpose to not ever be broke or stranded in anyway. It is important to have a purpose, so that when one wants to backside, all they need to remember for motivation is the reason that made them embark on that decision.

    Make A List Of Expenses

    Make a list of your expenses for a week, month, year and see what you spend your money, everything should be jotted down. This would be a guideline to indicate what one should cut off or keep. Laying the grounds for a budget for the new level of upkeep for yourself.

    Creating a budget from your drawn list of expenses, this will help you calculate how much you need to spend in a day or week. For example, your budget could be calculated to be $100 per week, and as time goes one, one can see if it can be reduced to $90 or $80 respectively. The budgets help you limit your spending and to ensure you don't go overboard.

    Shop Like A Negotiator

    Don't buy products at first prices, bargain them, compare shop prices and choose the cheaper. Be on alert for coupon sales, buy lowest priced items. Spend frugally.

    Hold On To The Change

    It is usual to just drop the change and leave them off at the counter. For this purpose, please take the change, every coins around, from the car, kitchen table, pockets, put it in a jar and save up, you would be surprised at how much change can accumulate in a week.

    Save The Bigger Fraction

    When money comes in from the job you are in, put the bigger chunk in the account, and the rest you use for upkeep, any extra change should be kept for a rainy day. Don't wait until everything else is paid, create a saving goal for the week or month, to know how much one should be putting in the account and whether they are keeping progress, and even if one has accomplished a goal, any excess should be put in the jar or saving box, separate from the one in the account.

    The last thing you want to be doing is living on credit cards, as this can cause hindrance to one saving goals, the money one is to be used for saving would be used to pay off debts, which is a bad sign, before starting saving it is better to pay off every debts, then begin off a fresh page and avoid using credit cards at all cost

    Discipline

    It is important to be discipline in this saving journey, as one flip can ruin everything else. There might be issues where health issues could occur, emergency, or car breakdown etc. that can be an exception but afterwards get back on track and be more committed. Committing to this would help improve your attitude towards saving and might end up gaining more than you expected.

    Saving is not easy task, but discipline is everything, from cutting a lot of the things you normally would to have your financial structure in place.
