How to Set up Hotmail Email on Mac
Are you a Mac user and wish to set up your Hotmail account with your Mac OS X Mail? If yes, then your decision will be very effective in the future, because the power and flexibility of Mac OS X Mail is admired by many users.
There are two simple procedures with the help of which you can setup Hotmail account on your Mac, one is by using POP protocol and the other is IMAP via IzyMail.
The use of POP will give you a chance to fetch your incoming mails very easily; on the other hand IMAP will help you to access all your online folders with no trouble.

In your Mac OS X Mail menus, click on Mail and select Preferences from the drop down menu.

A small window will open on your screen on which you will have to go to Accounts category.

Click on Create Account button.

Under the title Full Name, type your name.

Under the title Email address, type your Hotmail address and then click Continue.

In the other window you are given an option to pick the Account Type as POP or IMAP.

If you have selected POP then follow the procedure mentioned in this step otherwise follow the next step.
Enter the data mentioned below:
Description: type Windows Live Hotmail
Incoming Mail Server: type pop3.live.com
User Name: type your Hotmail address
Hit Continue
On the next page type the data as stated below for the Outgoing Mail Server:
Description: type Windows Live Hotmail
Outgoing Mail Server: type smtp.live.com
User Name: type Hotmail address
Password: type password of your Hotmail address -

If you wish to use IMAP via IzyMail your Hotmail account should be registered with Izymail.

Select IMAP as Account type
Enter the data as mentioned below for Incoming Mail:
Description: type Windows Live Hotmail
Incoming Mail Server: type in.izymail.com
User Name: type your Hotmail address
Hit Continue
The next page will ask you to type the data for Outgoing Mail as stated below:
Description: type Windows Live Hotmail
Outgoing Mail Server: type out.izymail.com
User Name: type Hotmail address
Password: type password of your Hotmail address -

Before you click Continue, check Use Authentication check box.
