How to Shoot the Soccer Ball with Accuracy and Power

Do you want to shoot a soccer ball with power and accuracy? A few players, including the Portuguese captain and star, Cristiano Ronaldo,  are famous for this very act. When it comes to shooting the ball, you can either be shooting it when it’s dead, or while it’s moving. Shooting the ball when it’s dead is totally different as compared to a moving ball. Therefore, you need to learn both the techniques one by one. Moreover, you can either use the inner side of your foot, your toe or the outer side of your foot in order to shoot the ball in both these cases.

    For a dead ball, you need to practice a lot in order to shoot it with power and accuracy. While using the inner side of your foot, try to put the non-shooting foot with in line with the ball and point it towards your target. Use the inner side of your foot to shoot the ball and it will travel in the direction where the other foot is pointing.

    If you want to use the outer side of the foot with a dead ball, you can simply repeat whatever you did in the first step, but just when you are about to shoot the ball, lift your non-shooting foot up and shoot the ball with your outer foot.

    Toe pokes are quite rare when it comes to shooting a dead ball. However, a few people have mastered this art. A toe poke will always travel fast, but straight. You don’t need much practice to master this art. Simply run towards a dead ball and shoot it with your toe.

    For a running ball, using your inner foot to shoot it can be troublesome. Lionel Messi is quite famous for pulling this off. Simply knock the ball forward and use the inner side of your foot to play the ball with power and accuracy. The direction is dependent upon your non-shooting foot.

    In order to shoot the ball with the outer side of the foot while it’s running, you simply knock the ball forward and right when you think the time is right, simply repeat what you did in step two. Put the non-shooting foot in line with the ball and use the outside of your foot to shoot the ball. Make sure that you lift your non-shooting foot in the air so you can add more power to your shot.
