Low ceilings
If you are facing problem of low ceiling, you need to make it look higher. You can paste stripped wallpaper on the walls so it seems higher. Remember that vertical strips make a room ceiling look higher. It is advisable that you use light coloured stripped patterns on the ceiling to raise it.
In case if it still seems lower, you can apply whitish colour or eggshell finish on the baseboard and ceiling mouldings. -

High ceiling
In case your house ceiling is higher, you need to apply darker coloured pain or wallpaper. Also use horizontal strips instead of vertical ones. You can use contrasting colours down and above the rail. If it still seems higher, you can apply the roof pain eight to ten inches on the walls from the top. -

Larger room with less style and warmth
If your room is larger, less stylish and less cozy, you need to apply darker shades of warm colours. Along with this you need to use flat paint on the walls. Remember that lighter shades of paint make a room less stylish and warmth. -
