How to Soothe Underarm Rash

An underarm/armpit rash is not only uncomfortable and scratchy, but can be very embarrassing. Friction, bacteria, shaving, heat, sweat blockage, deodorants and contact with allergens are some of the major causes of underarm rash. Itching, skin discoloration, pain, and the increased odour in your armpit area are the clear symptoms of underarm rash. You cannot take underarm rashes lightly as they can get serious with the passage of time if not treated properly, giving birth to serious skin issues like melanoma and ichthyosis etc. there are several ways to soothe underarm rash, which are not only simple but very effective as well.

    The very first thing you have to do is, stop waxing or shaving your underarm area until you have rashes’ issue.

    Keep Your Armpits Dry

    Excessive sweating is one among the major reasons of armpit rashes. Keep your underarm area dry all the time by applying some itching or rash powder. Otherwise, wipe the sweat dry with clean towel or tissue paper.

    Wear Loose Clothes

    Try to wear loose clothes while suffering from underarm rash.  It helps in keeping moisture/sweat from collecting in your armpits.

    Use Baking Soda

    Baking soda is another helpful remedy to soothe rash. Apply some baking soda directly to your armpit rash and leave it on for some time. Otherwise, mix some water and baking soda until it forms smooth paste. Apply it to the affected area and rinse off with lukewarm water after 10 to 15 minutes.

    Shift into AC Room

    Heat can make the underarm rashes more severe. It is better to move into a room with air conditioner to sooth the affected area.

    Tea Tree Oil

    Mix one part of tee try oil and one part of water. Stir well until. Dip some cotton balls into this solution and gently rub them into your underarm in soft circular motion. Leave it on for 15 to 2 minutes and then rinse off with tap water. It kills the fungus and stops the itching.

    Lightly coat the underarm rash with some calamine lotion and leave it for some to dry well before putting on clothes.
