How to Spice Up Rice in a Rice Cooker
There are numerous ways of cooking rice, but none is faster or more effective than using a rice cooker. The best part is that you can do other things once you have put the rice in the cooker as it handles everything for you.
Once the rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch off and you don’t have to worry even if you have forgotten that you were preparing something in the kitchen. However, some people are unaware of how to spice up the rice in a cooker. It is quite an easy process and won’t cost you any extra time.

1
Put rice in a bowl
Measure the amount of rice you need to cook and put it into a bowl. If you are using two cups, you have to fill the bowl with four cups of water. Remember, if you wish to increase the quantity of rice, you will have to increase the amount of water accordingly. -
2
Rinse water
Before you add four cups of water, you will have to wash the rice properly by rinsing it. Repeat this process for a few times until you feel that the rice is clean. -
3
Add ingredients in rice
Before putting the rice inside the cooker, you can put all of the desired ingredients inside the pot. Sprinkle some salt, spices and butter if you like at this stage. Even if you wish to add some vegetables, you can combine them with the rice at this point. -
4
Place pot inside cooker
Once you have added your desired ingredients, place the rice pot inside the cooker and shut the lid from the top. Now, plug the cooker in any socket and switch it on. It will function just like a toaster and you will know when the rice is cooked. Remember not to open the lid of the cooker until you get to know that the cooking is complete. Although you can take the spicy rice out as soon as it is prepared, it is ideal to leave it there for about 10 minutes.
